Killer Shrimp Almost Ready to Attack Town Square
Shrimp and secret spices are on their way.
Taking over a 7,000-square-foot corner space that previously hosted the Meatball Spot andSugar Factory American Brasserie, Marina del Ray and Hermosa Beach’s Killer Shrimp will be ready to get spicy within a few weeks.
Killer Shrimp was first revealed back in February, with company C.O.O. Brett Doherty predicting a late September debut for months. The hiring process is now almost complete and an opening is imminent.
As befitting the name, the restaurant’s casual menu is based around the “Killer Shrimp” secret recipe, simmered for 10 hours, before fresh shrimp is added, cooked quickly, and served with sliced French bread for dipping.
Remaining comfort food menu staples include oysters, surf n turf, steaks, salads, soups, and a signature dessert, the “Killer Shrimp Sweet Potato Pecan Pie served with decadent Chantilly Cream.” In California, the menu price point has been streamlined to prevent “the bill coming to a distasteful amount.”
