Brat & Brau Opens in Hermosa Beach, Smoke City Returns to the Valley, and More A.M. News
Plus the must-eat spots in Torrance, and an Inception-level Eagle Rock Brewery pop-up.
Brat & Brau begins its journey in Hermosa Beach
Though it only fell onto the world’s radar a few weeks ago, Brat & Brau in Hermosa Beach is already up and running. The sausage and beer spot from the Wirtshaus team quietly opened last night, and will be keeping evening-only hours from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the next couple of weeks.
Eating well in Torrance
FoodGPS is back on the case, this time uncovering the best places to eat in and around Torrance. Of course there’s no shortage of great options out that way, particularly if you consider the craft beer world, where Torrance has become particularly adept. One highlight from the list? Habana Vieja, a stellar-looking Cuban spot.
Daily Coffee News talks Shreebs in the Arts District
Charmed by the container ship storefront and Arts District locale, Daily Coffee News gives a wholehearted endorsement of Shreebs Coffee in Downtown. And with their adorable color scheme, outdoor seating, and quality coffee service, what’s really not to like?
Smoke City Market gets back to the streets
Per an eagle-eyed tipster, it looks like the Smoke City BBQ team is back out on the streets following the shutdown of their Sherman Oaks restaurant location not long ago. Good thing, too, as locals (particularly in the Valley) can now get back to enjoying the truck’s Texas brand of smoked meats.
Get your holiday coffee fix Downtown
G&B Coffee is doing a special holiday menu this New Years Eve, running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The idea is to do a special one-off take on the usual Starbucks suspects, from the Pumpkin Spice Latte to the Peppermint Mocha. And yes, they’ll have egg nog lattes and apple cider on offer as well. Sounds like a great way to ring in 2016.
Eagle Rock Brewery pops up in… Eagle Rock
One of the city’s oldest breweries, Eagle Rock, is doing a cross-neighborhood pop of sorts at the new Craft Beer Cellar on Colorado, just up the street from ERB’s own Public House. The event, which goes down January 9, will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and feature a full tap takeover plus bites from the restaurant. What a way to welcome a new friend to the neighborhood.
