American Tea Room Steeping For May Debut in Arts District

More tea is coming to Los Angeles soon, courtesy of David Barenholtz. The all-around tea aficionado has been running the popular American Tea Room in Beverly Hills for more than a decade, and earlier last year unveiled plans to expand the operation with a second location in the Arts District.
Back in May, it seemed likely that the ritzy shop would be ready to brew by November but, as with such things, delays have set the timetable back a bit. Still, here are a few interior shots of the soaring space undergoing some seriously heavy renovation. Yes, that’s a lot of digging going on.
Current plans are for the shop to be ready for public consumption by May of this year.
